Iliana Boycheva

Iliana Boycheva is CELIS Country Reporter for Bulgaria.

Iliana studied law at Sofia University. During her legal education, she was able to be part of an exchange program in Zagreb, Croatia, where she focused mainly on EU law. After finishing her LL.M., she completed a master’s in International Relations, specialised in the Protection of Fundamental Rights at Sofia University and a postgraduate degree in Rule of Law in Europe at the University of Strasbourg.

After a longstanding experience in the insurance sector, Iliana is currently a researcher and legal advisor for the Law program of the Bulgarian think-thank Center for the Study of Democracy. Her field of research is mainly focused on improving national legislation and implementing EU acquis in different fields such as Foreign Direct Investment, Criminal Justice, Rule of law, Environmental rights, Access to justice etc.
