Jochem de Kok

Jochem de Kok is Country Reporter for the Netherlands.
Jochem de Kok is a Senior Associate at the Competition & Regulation Department of Allen & Overy LLP and external PhD Candidate at the University of Amsterdam. He is specialised in investment screening, competition and regulatory law. He represents clients in a wide range of sectors, including aviation, automotive, energy, industry, infrastructure, finance, retail and telecom before investment screening authorities, competition authorities and courts. Jochem in particular has extensive experience in coordinating parallel investment screening and merger control procedures in multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Jochem’s PhD thesis is on investments screening in the European Union. He has published various articles investment screening, competition and international trade law, including in Legal Issues of Economic Integration, Journal of International Economic Law, World Competition and Springer, as well as in various Dutch journals.

Before joining Allen & Overy, he completed the Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission, DG Competition, where he focussed on State aid. Jochem graduated from the University of Cambridge (LLM, first-class honours) and the University of Groningen (Research LLM, cum laude).
