As part of an economic policy round table, the German Chapter of the CELIS Institute, in collaboration with the law firms Blomstein and Dentons,  hosts a discussion on the impact of trade policy measures on investment decisions at our Berlin office on 27 May.

In particular, we would like to discuss how new and complex trade policy measures on both sides of the Atlantic and their integration into economic security issues affect investment decisions and investment controls.

We will kick off the discussion on risks and opportunities for investment with a keynote speech by Christian Lau, partner at Dentons (Brussels/Geneva) specialising in international trade law, who will address the following questions, among others:

  • What investment barriers have been erected or seriously threatened by the Trump 2.0 administration to date, and how has the EU responded?
  • What role does the focus on economic security play, and what impact does such a focus have on investment incentives?
  • How can existing international regulations curb such developments?
  • What opportunities arise from new investment incentives in the context of trade policy measures (e.g. through trade defence measures)?

We look forward to discussing these topics with corporate lawyers and compliance officers, representatives of trade associations, political decision-makers and academics from the fields of business law and international relations.

Afterwards, we cordially invite you to join us for drinks and a relaxed evening.

Participation in the event is free of charge.
