CELIS Book Launch: 01 July 2021, 14.00-15.30 CEST, Online. With Cecilia Malmström and Sven Simon
The CELIS Institute and the Yearbook of Socio-Economic Constitutions (YSEC) invite you to the launch of its inaugural volume: "A Common European Law on Investment Screening (CELIS)" (Springer 2021) edited by Prof. Dr. Steffen Hindelang and Dr. Andreas Moberg. This comprehensive 850-page study presents the first and only, interdisciplinarily grounded appraisal of the emerging “Common European Law on Investment Screening” (or CELIS for short). It provides a foundation for a European administrative law framework for investment screening by setting out viable solutions and evaluating their pros and cons. As the political will in Europe to more actively control foreign investment flows continues to gain pace, the current regulatory initiatives raise several fundamental, constitutional and regulatory issues, which have not been addressed in any depth so far. The study takes stock of the existing fragmented regulatory approaches and combines contributions from leading international academics, practitioners, and policy makers. Due to the study's comprehensive approach, it is expected to influence the broader debate on the future shape of the EU’s foreign investment control regime. The study's 33 contributors will be joined by former European Commissioner for Trade, Prof. Dr. Cecilia Malmström and Prof. Dr. Sven Simon, MEP.
Attendance is open to the the public, free of charge, but requires registration. The event will be recorded.
CHATHAM HOUSE RULE OF NON-ATTRIBUTION GOVERNS FORUM DISCUSSION.
