Laszlo Csonka
Laszlo Csonka studied law at the University of Neuchâtel and completed a postgraduate Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law at King’s College London. After working at leading Swiss law firms in their Dispute Resolution practice groups, he joined the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) within the Directorate for Foreign Economic Affairs in the Export Controls and Sanctions Division. His work involves assessing and enforcing compliance with international security and foreign policy measures — in particular international sanctions — by Swiss and foreign companies, as well as financial institutions. With a strong focus on dispute resolution, he regularly represents the Swiss Confederation before Swiss federal courts in proceedings involving sanctions and other national security issues. Building on this experience, he has developed a strong interest in international economic law, trade and investment regulation, and the resolution of related disputes.
